Account information. Your name, email address, and password when you register. If you sign in with GitHub or Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from those providers.

Profile information. Headline, bio, location, skills, social links, and profile or cover photos that you voluntarily provide.

Content. Projects, opportunities, events, blog posts, and mentorship requests you create on the platform.

Usage data. Pages viewed, features used, and interactions such as follows and project stars. We use this to improve the platform.

Technical data. IP address, browser type, device type, and cookies required for authentication and security.

To provide, operate, and improve the platform
To authenticate your identity and keep your account secure
To send transactional emails: account verification, password resets, and notifications you have opted into
To display your public profile to other platform users
To match mentors and mentees based on skills and preferences

Service providers. We use Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Cloudinary (image storage), and an email provider. These processors handle your data only on our behalf.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings. Deletion permanently removes your profile, projects, and all associated data within 30 days.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, visit your account settings or contact us at isomounttechcollective@gmail.com.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords (bcrypt), secure authentication tokens, and security headers on all pages. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication (session cookies set by NextAuth). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We will notify registered users by email before making material changes to this policy. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
